AZLYN
The first time I met Azlyn, it was her first day of work as the graphic designer on our marketing team. Unfortunately, her first glimpse of me was bursting through the door with blood streaming down the edges of my nose. On my way into the office, I was grabbing my camera bag out of the trunk of my car and somehow managed to close the edge of my hatchback door ON MY OWN FACE. (Yes, it hurt. Yes, I’m an idiot.) I’ll never forget the concerned look in her eyes as I entered. You could say that her first impression of me was a lasting one.
What I can tell you about Azlyn: she is young and spunky, a talented makeup artist, and is apparently Tik Tok famous?? We’ve had many a conversation about what I need to learn from Gen Z, and I’m falling behind in that category. She was the first person to mention Drivers License to me. (“Apparently it’s really good.”) She is incredibly kind—always picking me up my favorite Swig order without me even asking. She rocks the sweatpants and Skechers look, but I’m happy she agreed to wear a skirt for this shoot.
Today, I was telling my coworkers how I rediscovered pop goddess Jojo’s 2020 album and they were asking me if it was any good. I replied with something along the lines of, “I mean, half the songs are pretty dirty, but I like it.”
Azlyn’s reply? “Aw Megan! See, you’re my favorite kind of person.” Love you too, girl.
